Violence against children – how to recognise how to act?
The online training for somatics professionals includes short training videos that provide a concise but comprehensive information package on the situations in which violence against a child should be suspected and how a professional should act in these situations. In addition, the videos describe the duties and division of duties of different authorities when a suspicion of violence is investigated.
The training package consists of a total of 22 expert speeches. It is a good idea to look through the training as a whole first, but the videos also work individually. They can be used to review matters, for example, in emergency situations or when preparing to encounter a child who is suspected of having been subjected to violence.
The videos feature HUS doctors and other experts, and they have been produced in the Barnahus project in cooperation between the HUS regional working group and THL.
It takes about 2 hours to complete the course. Individual training videos are between 2 and 12 minutes long.
The course is available in Finnish.
